Hi @mike-marcacci, this PR would fix an alert that's listed as a critical security update. I see that the checks are passing, but I need confirmation from an application architect or developer as to whether anything else is needed before merging. Also what, if any, additional QA steps do we need to take into account?

I have a more substantial refactor of this in #625, which transitions webpack from a runtime dependency to something that's only used in the build process. However, I'm merging this for now.
