The game does a good job of resetting the various simulations between visits, but I have found some objects that can slip through the cracks, so to speak:
Objects
VEST. This object can be bought at Dunbar's in 2051 or 2061. If you drop it in a room, it will still be where you left it next time you enter a simulation.
KEY, WALLET and CREDIT-CARD. These are moved to their correct locations when you enter most simulations, but not the 2081 and 2091 simulations. I don't think there's any way to bring them into 2091, but if you drop them at e.g. Main & Wicker they will still be there when you enter 2081.
SOY-PATTY. This object can be acquired at either Foodville in 2071. If you drop it in a room, it will still be there when you enter the next simulation.
BORDELLO-AD. This object can be acquired at Main & Wicker in 2051. If you drop it in a room, it will still be there when you enter the next simulation.
HOMEWORK is moved to LIVING-ROOM at certain points during the 2051 simulation. If you exit when it's there, it will still be there when you return to the next simulation.
CARD-CATALOG-CARD is moved to GLOBAL-OBJECTS when you enter the Main Library, and back to LOCAL-GLOBALS when you leave. If you leave the simulation while in the Main Library, you will still be able to refer to the card afterwards. (Even outside of simulation, though whatever you try to do with it it will just say "That would be a neat trick without appendages.")
Object flags
BLANKET, MOLD and RUSTY-CROSS all have FDESC descriptions, so they should probably have their TOUCHBIT reset between simulations.
BORDELLO-AD, MOLD and VEST have their TRYTAKEBIT cleared when you first pick them up or, in the case of the vest, buy them. They should probably get that bit back between simulations. I don't think they do.
VEST and BORDELLO-AD have their NDESCBIT cleared when you buy or pick them up respectively. I don't think they get that back between simulations. They probably should.
Global variables
DESCRIBE-VILLAGE is set the first time you enter Heiman Village in 2041. If it's not set, you get some extra information about it. This variable is not reset between simulations, so you only get the extra information once. This could be deliberate.
If ZOO-FLAG isn't set, you have a random chance of seeing children taunting the animals at the Zoo. This isn't reset between simulations, so you will only see this message once. I haven't found any other such event that isn't reset, so this is probably a bug.
If you open the can of soda (SODA) in 2041, it will still be open the next time you enter the 2041 simulation. It doesn't matter if you drank it or not.
