Center of Barge
You are standing on the deck of an ancient wooden barge. Before you, cut into the
deck, is a hole. To the south is a plank which leads down off the barge. You can
see two cabins on the deck, one to the west and the other to the east.
Before you, running down through a hole in the deck, is a sturdy beam made of
wood. Although only a few feet of it rise above the deck, it was probably used at
one time as a mast.
>PUT TORCH IN HOLE
There isn't room for the bronze torch and the mast, too.
The barge immediately catches fire in a tremendous flash and, before you know it,
you're heated to a toasty 1000 degrees. Not being made of asbestos has its
disadvantages, as you quickly realize....
**** You have died ****
It seems to be because while MAST-HOLE-FCN handles the action, BURN-THE-BARGE runs after every command, and it reacts because you tried to put a flaming object in anything else than the torch holder.
You also die if you try to put the torch in the knapsack (whether or not it's closed). But strangely enough, you do not die if you try to put the torch in the knapsack while it's being worn.
By the way, I don't mind that the barge burns if you successfully put the torch in the knapsack. It just seems strange that it burns when you're still holding the torch.
