You can refer to the car door in the courtyard, even if you left the car outside #5

The CAR-DOOR-PSEUDO routine is used for your car door in COURTYARD and DRIVEWAY. The car will always be in the driveway while you are there since the front gate closes behind you when you enter, and I don't think it will ever open again during the game.

But you can enter the gate by foot, leaving the car outside. In which case you can refer to the car door even though the car isn't there:

>LOOK
(You are in the courtyard.)
It looks even lovelier than it sounds in the tourist brochure.
The dark stone turrets rise toward the misty sky.
Tamara is listening to you.

>EXAMINE CAR
(You can't see any car right here!)

>EXAMINE CAR DOOR
You look over the door for a minute and find nothing suspicious -- for now.

This is what CAR-DOOR-PSEUDO looks like. It would be trivial to have it check if the car is also there:

<ROUTINE CAR-DOOR-PSEUDO ()
 <COND (<VERB? OPEN CLOSE LOCK UNLOCK>
    <NO-NEED ;"do that">)>>
