But I'm not sure what the purpose of this is. When Dr. Wendish disguises himself to haunt the secret passages in the green variant, he leaves his fake mustache in the kit in his bedroom. Which means that at least if you're quick enough, you can get into a situation where the mustache is on the floor and you still can't pick it up:
>LOOK IN MEDICAL KIT
In the medical kit you see a bunch of nasty-looking instruments, as well as
Wendish's mustache.
>GET MUSTACHE
You are now holding Wendish's mustache.
>IN
You step down into a narrow secret passage.
(You are in Wendish's entrance.)
Light comes from the ghost costume.
An open secret door and a lever are on the south wall.
The passage leads east and west into darkness.
Dr. Wendish is out cold.
The light reveals the blowgun here.
>DROP MUSTACHE
Okay, it is now on the floor.
>ARREST WENDISH
He says, "I feel... sleepy. I think..."
He enters his bedroom.
(It would be difficult to convict him with the evidence you've found. If you
hope to put the culprit behind bars, you'll need more convincing proof.)

(You can't take Wendish's mustache.)
The
UNSNOOZE
routine (which is called e.g. when trying to arrest someone) will callFIX-MUSTACHE
