Taking the costume would get you into even deeper trouble than you are in now.
Veronica leaves you, and is now near the south entrance.

I'm not in any trouble yet, but FAIRY-COSTUME-F doesn't make any distinction. Perhaps it should say something like "Taking the costume would get you in deep trouble." instead, if DEAD? is false.

Same thing if you try to burn the fairy costume before the murder:

>BURN FAIRY COSTUME IN FIREPLACE
You stop short, realizing that it would look very bad and ensure your conviction
for the murder.
Veronica leaves you, and is now near the south entrance.
