"PUT RING ON PEDESTAL" vs "PUT RING IN PEDESTAL" #33

After successfully stealing the ring:

>LOOK
Jewel Room
You are in a high-ceilinged chamber in the middle of which is a bare pedestal.
The room is unfinished with no indication of its purpose. A small plaque is
fastened to a wall.

>PUT RING IN PEDESTAL
The golden ring is now resting on the pedestal.

>LOOK
Jewel Room
You are in a high-ceilinged chamber in the middle of which is a bare pedestal.
The room is unfinished with no indication of its purpose. A small plaque is
fastened to a wall.

>LOOK IN PEDESTAL
There is nothing in the pedestal.

>EXAMINE PEDESTAL
The Royal Jewels are on the pedestal.

>GET RING
You are now wearing the golden ring.

>PUT RING ON PEDESTAL
Done.

>LOOK

Sitting on the pedestal is:
  A golden ring

Part of this is because CROWN-JEWELS-F only handles PUT, not PUT-ON. But considering the misleading message about the bare pedestal, perhaps it should only have this special case when you've gone back in time to steal the ring? Not when you do it in the present.
