The book is both burnable and not burnable #60

You can't burn a very ancient book.

>DROP BOOK
Dropped.

>BURN BOOK WITH TORCH
The book is consumed in a dazzling display of color.

LORE-BOOK-F only allows you to burn the book if you're not holding it.

The book doesn't have BURNBIT. Perhaps it should? I haven't tested, but I think it will make the book burnable when it's in your inventory (which will probably kill you).
