I would like a feature that would allow categories.
So far, this is the only extension that would allow me to check words on every 
page - and this is great!

I have a specific use case: for example, I know that a certain politician has 
done a bad thing (say, raised taxes). I would love to be able to tag him as 
'bad politician', so that I am warned when an article mentions him.

But at the same time, there are good politicians, which I want to tag as such, 
and it's important to distinguish between the two.

Currently I use Web of Trust (for myself as well) to rate and remember how and 
when a site disappointed me - it allows ratings and comments for a site.
There is a similar extension for accountability of politicians: 
http://allaregreen.us/

If Pearls somehow supported ratings and comments (or at least categories), it 
would become my favorite extension of all time, hands-down.

This is a very good idea but it would be more suitable for a new extension. I 
think I would use it even more than pearls. But before that, I will do some 
research and see what people have done similar to this. Could you please send 
me your contact on tonylopes in gmail? I'll let you know how this is advancing. 
Google Code will be shut down soon and this issue will disappear too I guess.
