having the same issue. Just built my keyboard tonight. both usevia.app on chrome and edge and the windows desktop app both give errors

toh995 commented 1 year ago

Same here - does anyone have any workarounds? I'm trying to remap some keys, set a fn key, also turn off RGB

So I talked to KBD fans support, and they said the following - works for me now (disclaimer, I'm not liable for damage, loss, etc.)

Please load the following json file into the design tab with the v2 definition enabled (design tab can be enabled in Via settings, then click on the config tab after loading the file) https://drive.google.com/file/d/1b_OJoFY5jVBwADN6-i7QiS_3fvXRS6Au/view

They also pointed me to the docs on the tofu65 2.0 website, i.e. under the "firmware" section, there are instructions on how to flash their firmware to the PCB.

I personally haven't tried the firmware flash, but that might work too. EDIT: I tried the firmware flash, but via still doesn't recognize my keyboard

the-spacewiz commented 1 year ago

using the json file didn't work for me, but using the firmware on the tofu 2.0 site did fix it for me.

toh995 commented 1 year ago

@the-spacewiz interesting - I had the opposite experience

alexzheng111 commented 1 year ago

I was able to get it working through the firmware flashing guide listed above, but I will leave this open for others experiencing the same issue.

I got the exact same error for my KBDfans Tofu65 2.0, using the online via editor. Under both Chromium and Chrome 113. Firefox doesn't support WebHID so it won't even try to open usevia.app.

The latest .deb build of the desktop version worked! Version 3.0.0. I'm on a distro based on ubuntu 22.10.

I had the same issue, downloaded VIA on my windows 10, I then loaded the Json file into VIA from the KBD fans website, closed VIA and when i opened it again it was perfect, I am glad i didnt need to flash my PCB... shoutout to @toh995 for helping
