I don't think there is any guarantee. I just did it the way it is described on the internet. The patch is simply applied. That's all I can say.
OK, was the RT kernel tested in a rpi3(b+)?
No was only tested on rpi4.
OK, that's what I thought. It looks like there is no runable 64 bit rt patch for pi3. Only 32 bit ones are running. There must be some hidden secret to get it done.
How is it guaranteed that there are no RPI specific parts of the RPI kernel being required to be patched when using an upstream preempt_rt patch?
