What about instead filtering to just results from your favourite crags? This would be much simpler for us to do.
Sorting by relevance would definitely good a good thing but could also take a lot more signals into account like wether you had ever climbed there, or made edits, or stuff unrelated to you such as how popular it was it wether your friends had climbed there etc
Filtering the results would be fine, too. My point is mainly about improving the usefulness of the immediate results. With this in mind, I think it's essential that such a filtering is applied by default when searching, providing the possibility of switching to unfiltered results if really needed.
The usefulness of search results could be improved by prioritizing nodes that are part of any favorite crag of the user.
Personally, I'd be happy with a simple augmentation of the search result order. A more transparent alternative could be grouping the results by "favorite matches" and the rest, of course at the price of adding UI clutter.
