How can we add thumbnail preview images to posts? #509

The demo version does not include this feature but I've seen other sites using this theme that do. I can't work out how this can be fixed, can anyone help?

I'm not aware of this ability out of the box, I would think those projects have overwritten certain template files in order to achieve this.
