spaces instead expected tab(s)

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. "tabs to spaces" is unchecked.
2. Press enter, press tab(s).
3. Paste from clipboard.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Expect tab(s) which is already there on the left of the caret. Spaces; after 
pasting tab(s) is changed to spaces despite the option tells not to do this.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
any > 2.0.0. WinXP SP3, WinSrv 2003.

Please provide any additional information below.
