Listening to this event will allow us to launch the download manually (e.g. when a composer --no-scripts command is launched)

Nice!

If I understand correctly, you mean that by running composer run-script download-nodejs, you can trigger the download manually. Am I right?

If yes, would you mind changing the README to add a few about this new feature? Ping me when it's done and I'll merge the PR.
