Ok, here's some funny irony. Apparently, I'm the only one in my friends server who can hear the music!

you didnt set the config properly, you used a local ip for the config value minecraftServerHostname. your friends cant reach YOUR local ip's. this is, assuming your using your the built in server, because you really didn't give me a lot of information here. even still: it boils down to: user error.

oh, i closed the issue hastely cuz im 99.9% sure thats your issue, but do tell me if im right or wrong.

No, he could hear it before, then it just randomly broke while he was using it. Plus, he's not using the internal server.

sound engine probably creashed than, exit spoutcraft to desktop. relaunch.

He did. Still having issues, while I'm not.

turn up your music volume above 0.

Again, noone but myself can hear the music. Everyone else sees the "downloading file" thing, and then nothing happens. The discs did work before the issue started...

And his volume is at max, and he can't hear a peep from JB...

maybe the url is no longer alive. give me the url to the song.

Well, I can hear the songs. And I am the only one. Meaning (I think) the links are still alive. Especially since he used a disk with a song that I've never downloaded before...

does he hear things like the "clicks" when inserting discs? the soundeffects?

No, nothing JB related at all.

ok than, sound engine crashed. tell him to quit to desktop, not just log out of server and back in. EXIT. in fact. tell him to reboot his entire computer just so you know that he closed spoutcraft completely and relaunched fresh.

happens sometimes, its a problem with minecraft and custom sounds.
