Very nice project! I'm currently using your template for a hobby project and it's been great. I would love to make some contributions.

Changes:

Adds type for toast type
Removes duplicate onDestroy
Closes event source
Moves appName and copyright to layout.ts to keep customization in one place.
Handling for unsuccessful requests of releases
