`sub!' for nil:NilClass" error on foreman 1.14 #12

Hi guys ,

Im getting "undefined methodsub!' for nil:NilClass" error on foreman 1.14 when i try to edit host. A lot of forums pointing to ruby 2.2 and rails > 4.2 so i have successfully installed those requirements but still getting error . i did not get any similar error at foreman 1.13. So what happens ? when Im not using option --enable-foreman-plugin-cockpit than error isnt shown any more .

Appears to be fixed by 47ddc0cc19e64c1aadc1c8c5da621ca00361b4e1, but it's unreleased (at least it's not in the 2.0.2 gem - no git tag to check).

Since this is not released yet, how dose one start using this fix. a instruction for the non ruby gem initiated?

@DerekTBrown Are you using foreman_cockpit 2.0.3? Are you using also Katello? Currently the plugin is broken with Katello, that needs to be fixed. If you're not using Katello and you're using cockpit 2.0.3, it shouldn't throw this error. Could you paste the complete logs from /var/log/foreman/production.log around where you see this?

Hey guys,

Yeah, having the same problem as well, just finished installing Foreman, then manually installed the Cockpit plugin, checked cockpit and it is working. However as described, when going to Hosts pages, it throw's this.

Running CentOS7 Foreman 1.15 Cockpit 2.1 foreman_cockpit 2.0.2

And not using Katello

Using Foreman 1.16, Katello 3.5.1, Cockpit 2.0.3 --- All latest rev/patches installed. Cockpit button does not spawn any actions. I've read its currently broken, and will await the fix for it. Just a place marker.
