I would like to be able to point at a more recent release, for example the 2016-04-12 update which merged HPCmapper & HPCdaligner into HPC.daligner.
Are you happy to add a formal version numbering (ideally also accessible via the tools themselves with -v or --version command line switches), or would you recommend referring to particular versions by the date of the associated commit?

Currently there is only one version tag on the git repository, v1.0 dated 2015-06-15 https://github.com/thegenemyers/DALIGNER/tree/V1.0
