I'm concerned that there won't be enough space for all of the elements on smaller screens – maybe < and > arrows are not as essential with a clearer breadcrumb navigation?
Yes, I can see how that might be an issue, but I also think the arrows are a key navigational aide we need to keep. How about we use just Cat., which we use consistently throughout anyway, and/or use a media query to hide the catalogue number for smaller screens? Which should be fine given that the cat number is in the object heading anyway.
I'm going to move the sticky-header bit to a separate issue, since the implementation may take a while to pin down and the more critical aspects of this are now fixed.
