The info how to use paraview from python is on the paraview wiki, one needs to
download the pdf files. Most of my questions are explained in there. I am busy
now,
but when I find some time, I'll try it and write some small howto to our wiki.

great! I am also too busy now to evaluate such things, so thanks for taking
care of it.

there is a discussion going on about animations:
http://public.kitware.com/pipermail/paraview/2008-February/006811.html

I wonder if it is still possible to animate the legacy VTK files we use (as
they are
simple and text only, no XML).

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
We can always convert them to XML for the animations if needed.

Please update the wiki with some examples how to do animation with sfepy and
paraview. Then let's close this issue.

Today I was forced to create not a few figures with _mouse_ again and again -
it was
a royal PITA. I will look at scripting paraview (or something else) as soon as
possible (= after the next week).

I have updated the wiki a bit. Let's close this. We are scripting mayavi2 now
anyway.
