Assertion failure? Can't open WMV

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.Open WMV
2.
3.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Can't open WMV without getting the error message:

Assertion failed!
Program: ...
File: .\dbcfile.cpp
Expression: data

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
I am using build r539, 32 bit on Windows Vista.

Please provide any additional information like screenshot and log.txt
below.
I attempted trying several different versions and still get the same message 
each time.
