NodeMCU USB port missing in IDE #48

I have never used NodeMCU before. I have used Arduino in the past, so I'm not completely new to this. However, for this specific board my macbook doesn't seem to recognize the usb port. When I connect my arduino, the USB port shows up. It doesn't for the NodeMCU. Upon connection, the board blinks a blue light 2times though. I can't get board info or write to it.

This seems to be a known issue for NodeMCU, and there are a couple of drivers available that I need to install. I've tried each of them, without much luck. I'm pretty sure, I keep installing random wrong drivers.

Could any of you point me to the correct driver I would need on macOS Catalina with the board that is recommended in this project? That's the one I purchased.

So far, I have installed and failed with these two drivers:

Ok. after switching to a third different usb cable, it got resovled. Wasted 2days on this. Issue can be closed :)
