Strong opinions here. What would be the reason not to?

  1. Flash
  2. Not flexible
  3. If we can't handle d3 we should move to higher level library on top of d3
  4. Nothing to learn from using google charts

flash trololol

that said, the MBTA visualization from a while ago used D3-tip

kevinakwok commented 10 years ago

That visualization also did some awesome pre-processing stuff. THeir handout on creating it was fantastic

My personal dev stuff:

Saturday -- crash course on design and front-end dev (much like iOS). Need to do this because we're contracting out Floored's shittastic website and I need to be well-informed.

Sunday -- finishing up last week's crash course on ios layout and animation. Will try to take down some of the issues in selfie.

After that, down to work on boxplot.

I'm ramping up on selfie. Been poking around.

Still feel slightly overwhelmed by scope of boxplot.

@Allen: in! @Kevin: we should split stuff up. I think most of the next steps are UI-related, which I know the least about. That said, can't be afraid of diving into design and ui/ux.

Just a FYI, you probably don't want to use the syntax: "@Allen" as that's my username and I get automatically notified of issues when it's used.

Given that I'm not part of this project, you guys might not want me to see all this.

danielsuo commented 10 years ago

Sorry! Thanks for letting us know. Hope our chatter wasn't too much of a bother.
