Which platform is this for?: Mobile App: Commuter

Is this improvement to an existing feature in the platform or a new feature?: New Feature - something that does not yet exist on the system

What problem is this feature or improvement solving?: Currently, our LULA platform allows users to register with fake phone numbers. This poses a problem when we have to send notifications or alerts to these users via SMS/Text e.g. trip notifications, or security notifications such as 2FA.

Please describe the feature you want and how you see it working.: After a user has successfully signed up and account is activated we should request them to verify their phone number by sending them an OTP that they need to input for their phone to be verified. Once done, we let user know that their phone number has been verified.

Please rate the urgency of this feature request/improvement:: Should have, for effective use of the platform.

What positive impact will having this feature have to LULA and our users?: Better user experience. Remove fake phone numbers from the LULA platform.
