Change charter time and date #28

Which platform is this for?: All platforms

What problem is this feature or improvement solving?: we would like clients to be able to ammed the date of time of the charters. With new clients the request to change the time and date of charters has increased for expample Roche, FireBlade and Tourvest. The requests are mostly coming through Kommunicate and phone calls. We are currently having to request clients to create new charters with the new changes. and the administrator is having to decline the old charter. and in the case of Tourvest we are having to create the new charters on theri dashboard as the operations team.

Please describe the feature you want and how you see it working.: An administrator of an organisation should be able to amend the date of the charter and time from the organisation dashboard. Once the date and time have been changed. support/Ops should be able to receive a notification for this change. Driver should also be able to receive notification of the changes and iether acccept or reject the changes. the acceptance of rejecting of the changes by driver should prompt a notification to Ops. as ops may need to find a new driver to replace the old. We will need the changes not be made an hour before the pick up time. This is for trips scheduled in advance

Please rate the urgency of this feature request/improvement:: Should have, for effective use of the platform.

What positive impact will having this feature have to LULA and our users?: yes it will safe time for the Ops team in resolving queries. and allowing clients control of their own dashboards and not for them having to rely on Ops for these simple changes

At which point can the date and time be updated, before or after the trip has been assigned? Operations would like to be able to change date & time both before and after the trip has been assigned.

At which point will this be restricted, eg. once the trip has started, been assigned, or time before pickup Operations would like the functionality to be restricted one hour before the trip's pick up time (current time and date displayed).

If the charter has been assigned to a driver, and we allow the date and time to be updated, what happens, Is it unassigned, or is the driver informed and given the first option to accept?

The trip will firstly remain assigned to the same driver, who needs to be notified and given the option to either accept or reject based on the updated time and date.

When he declines, will the trip be re-actioned

If driver rejects the updated trip, the trip would indeed be re-auctioned via trip auctioning. If no other driver accepts it, the trip would come through the "unassigned trips" slack channel as it currently does.

What notification needs to be updated, will the driver and commuter be notified when these changes happen and how will they be notified(email, in-app, SMS) As mentioned, the driver will need to be notified both in-app and sms that the trip's date and/or time have been updated (when given the opportunity to either accept it again or reject)

As for commuters, operations would like them to be notified by SMS only that their trip's date and/or time have been updated as requested. Similar to the notification they receive when their trip is assigned.

Additional question: Is there a use case for a change of pickup or drop-off location?

As far as change of pickup or drop off location, Operations does not think it should be accommodated as the change of locations would result in change of price quoted, which would mean that trips paid via cards would have to be charged again with the new amount, and previously charged amount would need to be refunded, each time. It would also make it a lot more inconvenient for drivers in case the updated locations are in completely different areas compared to initial locations. In case of a change of pick up or drop off, clients would need to submit new charter requests.

Please provide actual proof, of declined charter where the reason is due to date and time change. @Arsene Mwenze Please assist Maps in collecting this information.
