Decrypting WD MyBook 4TB #65

Hi,

I have 2 WD MyBook 4TB which is encrypted. I have MRT, the drive is working fine, its just that I can't decrypted the drive to get 55 AA in sector 0. Can you assist on this matter? there's 2 case similar issue. How much it would cost for both drives?

Don't know what you are talking about. 55AA? MRT?

Ok, you can forget that part. I have a self encrypted 4TB WD hard drive taken off from MyBook. Will you be able to help to decrypt it? This drive not encrypted by the customer.

What is the chip number on the USB-SATA bridge card (the square one nera the center of the board)?

The chip on the USB SATA bridge card is ASmedia ASM1151W

Anyway, as far as I know, the ASM1151W does not encrypt.

Hi, further update on this case. I have checked with the client and he told me that he is using Mac and the external drive suddenly locked with password after an OS update. Is it possible to revert or unlock it?

I have read in some forums about the WD MyBook/MyPassport decryption. But almost nothing about data recovery on the WD Elements. I am new to this and very little knowledge in programming, but I have a good friend who will help me if I ask. I have tried to find similar USB PCB/Controllers on eBay, but to no avail. The drive is rarely used and was working properly on the last day of use. The white light does not turn on on the PCB. I have important personal information. Here is the closest thing to what happens to me. Does anyone know how to recover the data from the disk? Does anyone have any ideas?
