[x] - Profile of Independence, Missouri criminal justice spending
[ ] - Deep dive on Southern California criminal justice spending tracking the decision-making and approval process of how the money ended up there
[ ] - Long Beach, California police-as-health/social-workers program, and any other similar programs we might find
[ ] - Investments in police retention bonuses and increased wages justified because of supposed attrition vs. the actual attrition/employment data
[ ] - Investments in police/social work alternatives -- where did that happen, did they pan out?
[ ] - Loss of inmate labor
[ ] - Did smaller places spend crazier than bigger places?

CJ spending in smaller places.

One thing that came up when I was talking about ARPA at the policing meeting: Are smaller towns and cities spending more share of their ARPA money in CJ? The theory is the smaller places have never gotten this kind of federal fund, and with less media scrutiny, they might do crazier things.
