Open banner button link in same tab and make templates more robust/flexible #138

Opening in a new tab feels weird since the button most likely links to a subpage of the same site.

Additionally, some template files under layouts/ have been improved to be more robust/flexible when individual fields in corresponding content/ files are missing or blank.
