Two things:

Large input used text-md which does not exists in tailwind. It should be text-base.
Large input used sm:text-md and small input used sm:text-xs. Instead they should use non-responsive variants text-base and text-xs, otherwise on small devices text size for a small input ends up being bigger than that of a default size input.
