Based on my experiences with submitting a few bindings, here's some notes that I hope will help you:
A good chunk of the readmes for openHAB bindings typically try to focus on both the "auto-discoverers" and the "adder of things/items via config files".
The advanced users using config files need to know what the Thing IDs are, what devices they are used for. Same applies to the configuration and channels, they need to know the actual property names and what channels will be used for each device so they can configure without having to dive into the binding source code.
Additionally, I have explained what the map file is and how to use it, since this was not included and its vital for the RM devices.
I have also removed the original developers name, the openhab maintainers will flag that to be changed (I did the same when I wrote the HP binding).
Left over template sentences have been removed.
Each sentence should be on its own line - even though its part of a single paragraph, makes file diffs easier to read.
