The Goal of this pull request is to merge some changes into @themillhousegroup openhab2-addons repository, in preparations to contribute the binding to to the openHAB project. This pull request resolves some of the coding guideline issues present, removes some of the compilation warnings, and prepares the codebase to be merged into openhab SNAPSHOT-3.4.0
