reShade #36

reShade doesn't work with the latest binaries. The interface opens and appears to be functioning normally, but it has no visible effect.

themrdemonized commented 1 year ago

You need full addon support version of reshade installed, preferably 5.7.0

billlcarr commented 1 year ago

I've done a clean install of the full addon support version of 5.7.0 (the installer name is "ReShade_Setup_5.7.0_Addon.exe"), and it still doesn't work. In the reshade interface, under the "Add-ons" tab, "Stalker Anomaly" is present and is checked. Is there any other setting I need to change or procedure I need to do?

themrdemonized commented 1 year ago

do you have any actual shaders installed?

billlcarr commented 1 year ago

Yes. I have shaders installed, as well as a preset, that all works when I switch back to the older EXEs. As soon as I switch to the newest EXEs, it stops having a visible effect.

I should also mention, before this version, I was using the EXEs from SSS 16. reShade was working normally. I updated to SSS 17, and that's when I noticed reShade not working anymore. In testing, I tried the latest binaries from here and noticed reShade didn't work with them as well.

What directx version do you launch, and is it avx/non avx?

billlcarr commented 1 year ago

DirectX 11 AVX

themrdemonized commented 1 year ago

can you drop the log, there should be a reshade string

billlcarr commented 1 year ago

Sure thing-

themrdemonized commented 1 year ago

the compatibility addon is loaded, so it should work fine. idk whats wrong with it

billlcarr commented 1 year ago

Yeah, the add-on shows up in the reShade "add-ons" tab as well. It's really bizarre. reShade is definitely installed properly, because it works when I replace these binaries with the ones from SSS 16.

billlcarr commented 1 year ago

Don't know if this could be useful, but here's the dxgi log from reShade

themrdemonized commented 1 year ago

i think reshade uses Reshade.log, what you posted tells it is really old 5.0.0. verison

billlcarr commented 1 year ago

Sorry, you're right, that must have been left over from a previous install. Here's the reshade log

same issue. install new sss and exes and reshade didnt work. back up old exes reshade works

themrdemonized commented 1 year ago

try this pack, see if it still persists: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1cHEN2nsEKXxnobD0g9jT_cUv7VLdyhVF/view?usp=sharing

billlcarr commented 1 year ago

Same thing. The reShade interface functions normally, Stalker Anomaly is listed and checked in the Add-Ons tab, but none of the shaders have any visible effect.

themrdemonized commented 1 year ago

idk it definitely should have an effect, i cant reproduce the issue, it just works. try some extreme preset in actual game. the ui wont be affected, including whole main menu screen

billlcarr commented 1 year ago

Ok, I'm an idiot... I was testing it on the main menu... It's working. Thanks. Sorry to have bothered you with this nonsense.
