So, while testing another issue, I realized that the Pop-up menu tab doesn't work at all; new items cannot be added, and the Font drop-down list is completely empty, as per the enclosed screenshot.
Configuring a pen button to trigger the pop-up menu doesn't make it work, either.
Interestingly, the “Default” button seems to work, and the menu itself works (only the two default options, Pen and Mouse, appear, and typeset in SF Pro – a font which I wasn't able to select on my 2012 MacBook Pro with the earlier driver release).
