For the squad bank idea, I would make it so that the squad money counts towards unlocking stuff, kind of like WoW's guild exp system. Reach a certain level and the squad gets a priv freq. Reach another level, and a special item becomes unlocked for squad members, that kind of thing.
Just updated the issue with something similar to that as well as actually using total squad XP for something similar. Keep discussing guys!
An entirely new HS-only squad system would probably be required for this, using HS commands for joining and controlling a squad.
True. You could probably leave the joining and other default squad stuff alone though and just implement HS squad-based commands on their own.
Something to think about though.
The squad total xp thing would help with new players too i think. Especially when they join late in a reset and everyone has sigs and such already and they are stuck with a starter kit. A squad could take them in and they would gain access to the higher level weapons and help level the playing field a bit. Please correct me if im thinking about this wrong though :P
Squad exp would work more like WoW's guild exp does, in that the squad would gain levels and unlock stuff. Not necessarily game-changing stuff, more like small perks. That's how I understand it, at any rate.
Still waiting on a response from Spidernl on this topic so far.

So far I think Issue #16 (buying priv freqs) would help out a lot.
Another idea would be "squad banks" which again Issue 16 could help out on. Then you could also add other items that affect the squad as a whole and also ways to deposit money into the squad bank and then either the money goes only towards certain "squad items" or possibly withdrawn.
Could also do a "squad total exp" system where upgrades are unlocked for everyone in the squad once it reaches a certain point.
