We are shipping this change by default on lxqt/iot Jessie images as of 20160507.

via the custom "bb-node-red-installer" debian package...

ps, you'll definitely want to bump the main package version as this will break nodejs v0.10.x

Did you checked that i2c works fine after making this change? I have no means to check i2c device.
