Thank you Justin. The suggestions look good to me.
But a couple of questions before incorporating them:
grease trap | GTP oil water separator | OWS | We already have an Oil Interceptor - OI - is this the same type of equipment? standalone laundry washer | WSH standalone dryer | DRY | We already have electrical appliance - air dryer - ADY I think it matches combo washer dryer | WDS
Thanks! F
Oil water separator and oil interceptor often times are used interchangeably (see link https://www.washbaysolutions.com/what-is-the-difference-between-oil-interceptors-vs-oil-water-separators.php for further detail). "Oil interceptors are typically used in low flow drain lines where small quantities of oils, sediment and other liquid contaminants can be “intercepted”. These drain lines may come from variety of facilities including covered parking garages, machine shops, service stations, and manufacturing facilities."
"In comparison, Oil Water Separators https://www.washbaysolutions.com/oil-water-separators.php have a far more sophisticated and efficient design. They are used in higher volume applications such as industrial wash operations, parking lots, re-fueling facilities and military installations where there is a potential for a much higher volume of water, oil, and contaminants. The standard oil water separator https://www.washbaysolutions.com/oil-water-separators.php is a steel or stainless steel tank containing an inlet compartment, baffles system, sludge chamber, separation chamber with coalescing media, and clean water outlet chamber." For our purposes, I'm fine with using OI (or oil interceptor). Apparently we don't have too many of these onsite.
The Air Dryer one you have in asset abbreviations I thought of like a Dyson hand air dryer or air dryer for your hands in a restroom. The standalone dryer I'm referencing below is a laundry appliance dryer but if you want me to use ADY for the appliance air dryer that's fine too.
Let me know when we are good to go with all the abbreviations listed. Also for the grease trap we can use the grease interceptor asset abbreviation or GI. That will be fine for this one. Thanks.

grease trap | GTP We can use GI or grease interceptor here. No change needed. oil water separator | OWS | We already have an Oil Interceptor - OI - is this the same type of equipment? Assuming we use OI here then? standalone laundry washer | WSH standalone dryer | DRY | We already have electrical appliance - air dryer
- ADY I think it matches (We can use air dryer but I thought this was more as an air dryer for your hands in a restroom not a laundry dryer. Let me know if you want me to use ADY for a laundry appliance dryer). combo washer dryer | WDS
Thanks! F

OK so:
Existing abbreviations grease trap | GI (grease waste interceptor) oil water separator | OI (oil Interceptor) standalone dryer | ADY this is not intended to be a hand dryer so I think it fits your use case. However adding an abbreviation for hand dryers sounds sensible
New abbreviations standalone laundry washer | WSH combo washer dryer | WSDY (it looks a bit more intuitive to combine hand dryer | HDY
Do you agree with the above? @richardkreid @KenEnright any comments?
These all look fine to me. Today we don't actually collect hand dryers in the restrooms as assets but it's good to have this for the future. Appreciate the help. I'm good with what you presented in email - all works for me. I'd say good to go correct?

I can't speak for the implications on this in other regions but it looks logical.
Fine with me.

Addition of: standalone laundry washing machine | WSH combo washer dryer | WSDY hand dryer | HDY in PR #128
Hello, I need new asset name abbreviations please. Here they are:
Grease traps, maybe GTP
Oil Water separator, maybe OWS
washer/dryer laundry appliance machines: we have 3 different types: standalone washers (WSH), standalone dryers (DRY), combo washer/dryer (WDS) that will need to be entered.
Please let me know if the asset abbreviations mentioned here will suffice. Thanks.
