I think this "Unlike a traditional business where your resources belong only to you and can be protected, open data can be used by others at the same time." sets up open data as something scary through which you lose control of your resources. It's also a false dichotomy: when you open up data, the data still belongs to you and you can still close it again.
I'd suggest instead something like "Unlike a traditional business model where you keep data entirely to yourself or sell permission to use it, open data can be used freely by anyone, including partners and customers."
