Too much text in README #336

I realise we need to explain things, but I feel that there is way too much text in the README. For a first time user to come and see that, it will be quite daunting. It's a hard concept to grasp for a lot of people, so making it more simple is a good idea IMO.

Agreed. I'll work on writing a cut down version.

Parts of the readme in 3.0 are still outdated also.

I'll be rewriting the documentation for 3.0 soonish. I'll aim to move most of it to being solely on our gh-pages website rather than in the readme.
