Workstations with IDE's and other coding tools #9

Suggestion

Better workstations in the prime lab that have installed IDE's and other software development and coding tools

Purpose

I want this in the prime lab because as a CSCE student I WANT to spend time outside of class learning more languages and other software and coding skills, but the difficulty and risk of damaging my personal laptop by installing software development tools as well as the lack of computing power on my personal laptop means that my hands are fairly tied when it comes to trying to learn the things I am interested in

This is currently a top priority on the roadmap, and there are a handful of ways that we could go about making the space better for software development. I personally have been a proponent for building out a Citrix or VMware horizon server that we could use to provide compute power with, but currently we do not have access to licenses for either of those services. Another option I am looking into in to while we sort that out would be adding Thunderbolt GPU docks for those who need extra GPU power, and don't mind using their laptop.
