[FROZEN] waiting for stable Android Studio and tools #4

3.0+ is using previews, alphas and other unstable things incompatible with AS 2.3.3

Android Studio 3.0 has been released! :P

thermatk commented 7 years ago

Done!

ildar commented 7 years ago

Awesome! Will you do the PR to fdroiddata or should I open a new issue there? Also is https://gitlab.com/fdroid/fdroiddata/issues/748 satisfied?

thermatk commented 7 years ago

Not really difficult https://github.com/thermatk/FastHub-Libre/commit/d176ae5e07c398555e8099f7e20ea12108ec1f96

but I'm not sure F-Droid needs it. It gets worse and worse, there even is a function to check logins against a firebase database, because the author has made a blacklist from people he doesn't like(!!!). I've removed it all, but still 😫 Also, it would probably mean the need of fixing all the things related to in-app purchases, promo codes and whatever in the strings

The big advantage of this fork is that it's FOSS, it has notifications working without play services, premium features are there( 😃 ), no shady blacklists and no analytics. But it's not a true fork in the sense of changing the name of the application, icons, links or whatever else

The app looks crappy/jerky now :( I've got two apps for github installed but both are quite crippled in the sense they can't open many links to github. FustHub looked promising in this sense. But now I doubt I want to use it. But thank you anyway. Even one FOSS version going directly to F-Droid archive can be useful sometimes.

thermatk commented 7 years ago

It's rereleased with the new packagename, so formally satisfies the criteria :+1:

@ildar did you try OctoDroid yet? It's on F-Droid right now, thanks to @thermatk. 🚀

ildar commented 7 years ago

Yes, I'm using it daily. And since then my interest in FastHub dropped a lot. Though OctoDroid doesn't feel feature rich yet. I'd be pleased to see a multi backend app to access GitHub and GitLab... someday maybe.

dimqua commented 7 years ago

One day, probably, OctoDroid will become feature complete too, who knows. 😊
