Sunflowerbed won't open - Line -in doesn't work

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Install Sunflower on MBPR 10.8.5
2. Select Sunflower input in System Preferences
3. Try to open Sunflower (no effect) Open Audacity and select Sunflower 2ch as 
input.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
NO AUDIO RECORDED

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Sunflower 1.6.6
Audacity 2.0.4

Please provide any additional information below.
Have things changed for OS 10.8.5? I installed the latest Sunflower 1.6.6 and 
Audacity 2.0.4 (and restarted). The Sunflowerbed icon appears in my Launchpad, 
but double clicking has no effect (except returning me to the desktop). 
Audacity input lists only “internal mic” (which records computer sound PLUS 
room noise) and the two Sunflowers (2ch and 16ch). But the latter records NO 
SOUND (even after selecting Sunflower 2ch in System Preferences). Might 
installing an older audacity fix this? Was so hoping this would work. Please 
help!
