I'm not a fan of including historic games in the daily leaderboard, since the idea of the leaderboard is that it only contains scores from people playing on that day. I don't want to create a new section for the leaderboard just for historic games either, since I don't believe historic games are played all that much.
There's also a technical issue, since in the game's code I don't actually track statistics for historic games.
Sometimes I miss a day & "catch up" via the Historic practice, it would be nice to see how I did relative to others!
I understand that it does suck to not know how you compared to people if you missed a day, but I believe that's part of the game's experience! The point of the game is that each game is played on a specific day.
Feature Description Upon completing a Historic puzzle in Practice mode, show your ranking in the corresponding puzzle's leaderboard.
Ideally, retain this ranking to be presented in the "Daily" leaderboard view for the corresponding puzzle (e.g. https://duotrigordle.com/leaderboard/daily/normal/708). Though I can see how this could be more challenging if a user repeats the same puzzle multiple times, either as repeated historic practices or by attempting it both on the day & later in Practice. Perhaps a user's first score, regardless of whether this was in Daily or Historic, could be taken. Alternatively, present the ranking on a "temporary" basis upon each Historic practice completion but do not add that score to the leaderboard archive.
