Duplicate scores recorded on an alt account #159

Description On July 15th, 2024, after logging out of an account and into another, the leaderboard scores and times seems to have synced between the account, duplicating the scores. On that particular day, I only finished playing the sequence and the jumble, and the daily scores for those two game modes got duplicated onto the alt account, as shown in the screenshots below. More importantly, the practice time for just the sequence and jumble also seem to have duplicated, again shown below. Note that the same duplication occurs when the leaderboards are sorted by either guesses or time!

Steps to Reproduce

This happened a few days ago, so my memory isn't particularly fresh, I'll try to recount as best I can.

  1. I started by starting to play the normal daily game mode, but then backed out and logged out of my main account (RandomInsideJoke).
  2. I switched to an alternate account (RanInJokeSolveAssist)
  3. I went back into the standard game mode, but backed out before finishing
  4. I logged back into my main account
  5. I then played the sequence and jumble to completion on my main account

Additional Context I'm not even sure if duplicating like that will replicate the bug, originally I only noticed the duplicate score on the daily leaderboard, which didn't really bother me. It was only today that I realized the scores duplicated on the practice leaderboards, which is why I'm writing this bug report now, so my memory probably might not be exact. My practice scores are quite high on the leaderboard, so this duplication has been bugging me quite a bit and stands out pretty bad. If you could somehow remove the scores from my alt account (RanInJokeSolveAssist), it would be really appreciated.

Hi, the reason this is happening is that scores are primarily stored locally, then they're synced to the server under whichever account you're logged in under. Creating a new account will sync any locally stored scores.

Deleting your alt account will delete all of its associated scores on the leaderboard. If you want to keep your account, I can also manually delete any scores if you'd like, for that please send me an email at support@duotrigordle.com.
