Steve:

Most Hindus take the whole week of Diwali off. Date varies on gregorian calendars; it's always between mid-October and mid-November though.

In the Skandanavian countries, Easter is often a week-long PTO holiday. Also, Midsummer's Day (June 20th or 21st) is a holiday and a really bad time to schedule anything in Northern Europe.
