remote system does not display broken symlink properly #698

First, thanks for this great terminal!

I am working remotly on Red_Hat_Enterprise_Linux_Server_release_7.6_Maipo. So here is what I did:

wget https://raw.githubusercontent.com/thestinger/termite/master/termite.terminfo
tic -x termite.terminfo

Everything seems OK except that ls --color display the broken links the same color as the non broken ones. I tried to export SHELL=xterm before ssh and it fixed this behavior.

Is there a simple way to modify termite.terminfo to make this work?

The workaround is to export the right LS_COLORS. However, is there a way to make dircolors behave the same with xterm and xterm-termite?

OK, I have the answer to my question, dircolors default database is the culprit. On my Debian testing, it matches all xterm* terminals:

> dircolors --print-database | grep xterm
TERM xterm*

on the Read Hat 7.6, it lists only a couple of xterm terminals:

> dircolors --print-database | grep xterm
TERM color-xterm
TERM xterm
TERM xterm-16color
TERM xterm-256color
TERM xterm-88color
TERM xterm-color
TERM xterm-debian
