Having a similar issue. Not only does the keyboard not work system-wide anymore. Also mouse input is severely limited: I cannot move windows, nor click "into" other applications. Only the focus seems to work, and if I somehow got Chiaki into the background behind other windows I have to minimize the front window (this works) to access Chiaki again. Alt-tab’ing, all the Gnome 3 window overview features – all that does not work. I almost had to restart the system to figure out how to gain back control.
As @darkguy2008 says, after closing + reconnecting suddenly it works.

Environment
Describe the bug After entering Login PIN, keyboard is unusable outside Chiaki. Upon reconnection, keyboard works.
To Reproduce Steps to reproduce the behavior:
Expected behavior Steps 5 & 6 is the expected behavior, regardless if you have Login PIN or not.
