Changing Wallet address on existing Node #107

According to search, for Windows this involves deleting "%appdata%/Theta Edge Node" and restarting the node. This seems to work but is not practical as users may delete the wrong folder/file.

For Mac however, it is impossible. Remove then re-install, remove, reboot then re-install, check "~/Library/Application Support", nothing is obvious and everything time you re-install the old wallet address is still there. Searching the entire machine for 'theta' shows the installer and the application, nothing else.

Do we have a set way to change wallet addresses that does not involve deleting files/folders from sensitive areas? Also where is TEN storing information on the Mac OS that is surviving reboots but is not clearing marked in the OS.

Thanks for any and all help, especially if this helps others down the line.

My Theta Edge Node has silently changed the rewards address to something random or someone else's address (0x7dd027aab1228c5054b1950b8638a46a32961572) so I have lost 2 months worth of my rewards on staking, caching and computing on two computers. And it seems that there is no easy way to fix the situation. I already had accepted losing my rewards by just updating the address but well, can't do that either... Some help would be very nice.

SCAM ALERT

Don't go to that link and Telegram group, they will try to steal your Theta and TFuel. I will attach screenshots here about the conversation which exposes their strategy. They also deleted my last messages which expose them so that they appear to be helping me, leaving half of conversation with my name as social proof. I took the screenshots when they started deleting messages. I really hope those guys burn in hell.

Alright, that scammer already deleted their Telegram group address from this thread that is used for scamming. Never join @thetanetworking on Telegram, it is the group name. I won't paste the address here.

The new software creates a random wallet address. Click on the Open Wallet link on your right to send your TFuel to the wallet of your choice.

By default, you do not anymore configure your own wallet address. You can also backup the Edge Nodee wallet.
