I know the signal is a bit low but why all pin tries are starting after third
EAPOL request (1 pin/10+ sec)? Is the router limiting to 1 request per 10 sec ?
This also happened with another router but that was failing 6 EAPOL requests (1
pin/60+ sec). Then I managed to get a better signal (also was around -65dBm and
got -57dBm) and the EAPOL failures disappeared.

If this is because of the signal strength how can it be so systematic ? I mean
in both cases EVERY pin try was starting after 2 EAPOL failures, respectively 6.

Now I got -63dBm and no more EAPOL failures .. 1 pin/4 sec. So it is the signal
strength, but why so systematic?

Please read http://sviehb.files.wordpress.com/2011/12/viehboeck_wps.pdf

The hardware of some APs are not very good, low cache, low memory.

In your case, I believe it will have to be patient. Gradually you get it
