want to use Css sprites merge on dynamic images coming from database #86

I have a webpage in which I have stories which includes image, title, domain 
and source. These stories are coming along with image dynamically From 
database. I am showing 100 stories and each story have its own image.

So what I’d like to do is to first merge all the 100 images into one big 
image, and then apply css sprites on that 1 image so that it’s does not take 
more time while loading a page.

Please lead me and tell me if this is possible or not. If yes, then from where 
I can get the test code.
I am using PHP Mysql.
